12-Year Old In the House!

I'm a bit tardy in posting this, but the Miller household celebrated another special day in February -- Nick turned the big 1-2!!! He was lucky, because his celebration lasted 3 whole days -- his actual birthday was on the 28th, but we celebrated on the 27th because he had an all day basketball tournament on the 28th. And if you count the paintball party he'll have once the weather warms up, you could even say his celebration was 4 days long! He concluded the big birthday weekend by joining Dad for the final Illini home basketball game on Sunday afternoon, March 1. In all, a GREAT birthday according to Nick! He raked in quite a haul of gifts, including some 'much needed' CASH (he's saving for an iTouch), a new LAPTOP, and a new CELL PHONE. Can anyone say "electronics"??? Geesh, I would think he'd be on overload right about now, but he does love it all. :o) I still can't believe we only have one year before we're blessed with another TEENAGER in the house. Oh my . . .

And, as I said when Carly celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago . . . where do the years go??? It seems like just yesterday that we were in the hospital in Austin, TX, eagerly awaiting Nick's big arrival. He came into this world headstrong (he wouldn't come out naturally because he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck) and that little personality trait hasn't changed one bit. :o) Seriously, though, he's a wonderful kid - vivacious, competitive, quick-witted, happy, and with a passion for (pretty much all) sports.

We love you Nick!!! Happy 12th Birthday!
