The PERFECT cure for the winter doldrums is . . . an escape to Marco Island! Carly and I hopped in the car with Oma & Pappy last Friday and made a quick trip to the beach for a week of fun in the sun. It was a last minute decision and one that was completely unfair to Mike and the boys since they weren't able to come with, but "the guys" took it quite well, all things considered. :o) And let me just say . . . this little spontaneous escape is just what the doctor ordered. We've had absolutely gorgeous weather all week -- plenty of time to enjoy the sun, play in the sand, walk the beach looking for seashells, and swim at the pool. Carly has been in 7th heaven all week (me, too!). We'll head out early tomorrow morning for the long drive home and, as always, our departure will be bitter sweet. Both of us are excited to get home to see "our men" and Daisy, but in all honesty, we'd prefer to keep this wonderful 85 degree weather around for a while longer. As they say . . . all good things must come to an end. :o) The good news is that we'll be back for our summer vacation trip in just a few months.
