Enjoying family time in our favorite tropical location . . . none other than Marco Island, Florida.
We left Bloomington at 1:45pm on Thursday, March 18, and pulled in to a Denny's restaurant in Fort Myers (about 45 minutes from Marco) at approximately 9am on Friday, March 19. Made GREAT time - all due to Mike's expert overnight navigation. The kids were troopers (as usual) - we didn't hear a peep out of anyone between about 10:30pm and 7:30am. :o) We stayed in a hotel in Naples on Friday night, as we weren't able to get into the condo until Saturday, which is when the renters were vacating. We finally arrived at our favorite little slice of paradise around 10am on Saturday and we were on the beach by noon. Had beautiful weather on Saturday, a few clouds and some wind on Sunday, rain this morning, but now the clouds have completely cleared out and the skies are a brilliant blue with lots and lots of sunshine. Temps are only around 70 today, but the forecast says it will warm up for the rest of this week.
We don't do much when we come here -- our vacations on Marco are primarily for rest and relaxation and, of course, much needed "family time" ... lots of movies, games, pool time, beach time, and just 'hanging out' with each other. Can't think of a more perfect place to partake of these enjoyments! :o)
Check back -- I'll try to post pictures throughout the rest of the week!
Happy Spring Break!
